24th Annual "Touch the Future" Art Show
The 24th annual “Touch the Future” Student Art Exhibit, sponsored by the Mideastern Region of the Pennsylvania State Education Association (MER/PSEA) and the Council for the Advancement of Public Schools (CAPS). Twenty-seven Bucks and Montgomery county high schools are expected to submit up to 10 entries per art teacher. Awards and monetary prizes totaling $1,900 will be presented for student artwork judged best in a range of categories. The exhibit began as a memorial to NASA’s “teacher in space,” Christa McAuliffe, who died aboard the Challenger space shuttle in 1986.
In its 24th year, the program highlights the finest artistic talents of local public high school students. The exhibit will be featured at the Abington Arts Center – 515 Meetinghouse Road in Jenkintown from Feb. 5-27. (For more information on the center, please call 215-887-4882 or visit www.abingtonartcenter.org.)
