Helping the Children of Haiti
By: Carly Adams
The thing I want to do to change the world when I get older is serve poor people and I would start by helping the citizens of Haiti. The first thing I would worry about in Haiti are the children. The adults in Haiti may be scared, but I think the ones that are most scared are the children.
Some of the things I can do to help the children of Haiti are to start a bike riding fundraiser asking for donations for kids in Haiti or I can adopt a child of my own and open an orphanage taking in kids who have lost their parents. I have always wanted to adopt children and when I heard about the earthquake in Haiti it struck my heart hard. I thought "Hey, why not adopt a child from Haiti?" And by opening my own orphanage I can help more than one child. If I had an orphanage I would make sure my children would go to school, and have fresh water, good food, and lots of love.
If the children in Haiti are strong then their kids will be strong. If this keeps going Haiti can be a great country! But Haiti is not the only country that is suffering. After I tackle the bad things in Haiti, I will move on to the next country. I hope this essay inspires you to help countries just like Haiti that are suffering all kinds of different things.
