March is Women’s History Month and it’s a great opportunity to discuss with your children the accomplishments women have made throughout the years. It serves as an example for all students – both male and female – about what can be done with an outstanding education, hard work and dedication.
CAPS salutes a sampling of local women who graduated from public schools in Bucks and Montgomery counties and have gone on to do great things. Ann Shoket, a graduate of Pennsbury High School, currently serves as editor-in-chief of Seventeen magazine. Margaret Mead, a graduate of the former Doylestown High School, was a well-know American cultural anthropologist. The author, Lisa Scottoline hails from Lower Merion and Suzy Kolber, an Upper Dublin grad, is currently a sideline reporter for ESPN. JoAnne Epps, dean of the Temple University Beasley School of Law, is a graduate of Cheltenham High School.
