I Can Change the World
By: Danielle Nagel

I have always been a writer. From the time I was little, I attempted to write stories. Sometime I would tell them to my parents and baby-sitters. Other times I would tell them to one of my dolls. As I grew older, my stories got better and better. My teachers have always complemented me on my writing. I am currently working on my debut novel, Lonely Road. When I become an adult, I plan to change the world with words.

When I grow up, I want to be an author. In my books, I will tell the world what I know and believe. Spreading knowledge makes the world a better place. For example, my brother has autism. I know that this affects his life greatly. It will affect him even more when he becomes an adult. I hope to write a book about the struggles autistic people face in order to spread awareness of the disorder. A cure for autism needs to be found.

I also want to write about the wrongs of child and animal abuse. No innocent creature deserves to be hurt. It needs to be stopped, and that will take time, but people do need to be reminded to report any abuse they see.

People need to be educated, outside of school. I intend to grow up and do that with my books. I believe I can change the world, one word at a time.
